Sustainable Storage Bins
Do you own one of those square cubby storage units? You know the ones. Tons of stores carry them now – IKEA, Target, and even Bed Bath & Beyond.
The other day, I inspected one of the bins that’s supposed to sit inside the square cubbies. I realized that the whole thing was made of cardboard and a thin, polyester-based fabric. Not exactly something that’s made to last, especially if you have kids or pets. And certainly not the most eco-friendly option available, given that it likely ends up in the dump once it falls apart.
But then I came across SortJoy. They’re a company that’s dedicated to making durable, sustainable storage bins. They make felt bins out of 100% recycled plastic, and you can fold them down to fit into pretty much any cubby shape. Plus, they’re strong enough to hold up to the heavy wear and tear of an active household, which means they’ll last longer.
When I signed up for their rep program, I requested a “tester” bin, since I don’t feel comfortable recommending a product I haven’t tried for myself. And I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the look of it. So cute and neutral! It holds a lot, and looks good enough to sit out on a shelf in the living room. I’m going to use mine as a towel holder in our guest bedroom.
So, next time you need some replacement storage bins when your old ones give out, check out SortJoy! They even make handle bins, which work great as a tote bag or picnic basket. You can use my code ‘LCONNOLLY’ for 10% off your order.
