Sherwin Williams Color of the Year 2023

Trend forecasting plays a huge role in the interior design industry. Experts keep an eye on leading trends to help them predict what will become the “next big thing,” and then announce their predictions, typically the season (or year) prior. As a designer, I’ve come to look forward to September, because that’s when all of the major paint brands start announcing their predicted trend color of the year.

Sometimes, I honestly can’t stand the colors they choose. But this year, when Sherwin Williams announced that Redend Point would be its 2023 color of the year, I was STOKED!

It’s the perfect earthy blush tone, not overly bold, but with just the right amount of personality.

 

I felt inspired, so I created a flat lay for a fun bathroom or kitchen design! With Redend Point as the wall color, I pulled in white oak cabinets, a speckled countertop, a terracotta herringbone floor tile, and a star & cross tile that could serve as either a shower wall tile or kitchen backsplash. I added a fun, wool rug for some extra texture, and of course, gold fixtures & hardware.
