Before & After: Breezy Spanish Bedroom

Finding a client who shares my love of warmth, texture, and Mediterranean “well-traveled” vibes feels a bit like striking gold. And that’s exactly what happened with my Breezy Spanish Bedroom project.

The client already had great taste, but she’d had the same bedroom furniture set for a long time and was ready for an upgrade. So we moved her existing furniture set up to the guest bedroom and started fresh in the primary suite.

I started by suggesting a fresh coat of white paint and some LED “canless” lights to brighten it up. Then, we layered furniture and textiles with tons of texture to create a cozy oasis for the clients to enjoy for years to come. Let’s start with an “after” picture so you can see what I mean:

And here’s a look at the “before” – still cute but a little on the darker side:

BUT it gets better. This house is located in the “Fab 40s,” which is an older neighborhood in Sacramento, full of history. The original owners of this home had some over-the-top taste, and my clients have a book full of photos of the house to show what it looked like before they moved in.

So I snapped a picture of this exact bedroom, and it’s kind of like looking back in time. Are you ready for this? You’re not ready…
